Common questions, straight answers.
I lost my password — how do I reset it?
Use the "Forgot password" link on the live.aeye.cam sign-in page. If that doesn't work, contact your school administrator — they can rotate your password from the operator console.
Why can't I see my child's class right now?
The class is probably outside the viewing window your school has configured. The home page shows the next open time for each room. If the window should be open and isn't, check the schedule with your school.
My child is absent — why is the stream still showing?
If you can still see the stream after your child has been marked absent, the absence hasn't been recorded for today yet, or the wrong child has been marked. Contact your school — we don't change attendance from our end.
Why does my school decide when I can watch?
Schools control viewing windows for two reasons: privacy of other parents' children inside the same classroom, and to keep the streams scoped to actual class time. We don't override the school's decision.
Is this recorded?
No. The parent portal plays live video only. We don't expose recordings to parents.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. iOS Safari, Android Chrome, desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari are all supported. There's no app to install.
Safari works but Chrome doesn't on some streams. Why?
Browser support for the video codec your camera uses varies. Most cameras stream H.264, which works everywhere; a few stream H.265, which has patchier desktop browser support. If you hit this, ask your school — they can ask us to re-check the camera.
How is the video stored? Is my account secure?
Live video is not stored for parent playback. Your account email and password hash are stored in our database alongside your customer (the school). Connection credentials to the camera itself are encrypted at rest. See the security page for more.
Still stuck?
Your school administrator is the right first stop — they can see and change most things from the operator console.
